Day Twenty - Wet and not in a nice way!

As the sweat runs off me in this chair - I'm wet and not in a good way. Good way being - well do I need to spell it out!! Clearly from WALKING in the rain!!! (You filthy readers who thought of something sexual! Shame on you it's way too hot for that kinda action!) Anyway I'm typing at record fast speed hoping for not too many typos as I can't be arsed checking them (That's code for it's too bloody hot to care!) So I'll give a super quick lightning fast update.

Today was hot (See picture above) and it's still is quite hot, though not 41c as it was at 3pm when I took that photo!

I've written 1,059 words today, giving me a total of 34,402 words which is 402 ahead of day twenty target of 34,000 words exactly.

I did manage to go grocery shopping, and bought some Jelly.. MMmmmm Jelly. I was never aware that Aeroplane Jelly put out so many flavours. I walked out the door with six different flavours. I have a lemon and lime one setting in the fridge overnight. As I personally believe on a hot day jelly and ice-cream counts as a part of a balanced meal :P (In my world it does!) Though I need to watch what I'm sticking in my head, as I was at my mum's the other day and got on the Wii fit I've put on weight since I last wii'ed (Is Wii-ed a word?) I'm sure you know what I mean. Though my argument is muscle weighs more :P

Anyway... Life is here to be lived, and if that means I eat white chocolate tim-tams with my cup of tea then so be it, at least I can say I died happy :P Have any of you tried the new white chocolate tim-tams - they are extremely sweet, but Oh so nice!

Anyway I digress.... It's hot, I didn't make the 1,700 word limit I'm suppose to for the day but I'm still ahead by 402 words - so that's a bonus and an early mark from the heat. I AM picking up my laptop tomorrow. So I'll be able to write in the air-con comfort, as with nine days left of NanoWriMo I'd best put the excuses on the shelf and start punching out words!

That's all I've got.

I ploughed though so much Uni stuff today. I'm quite proud of myself. I've got one task left for Written Text and I'll be up to date with the online posting thing (Highly technical there) I've got one last major assignment left for that class and it's done and dusted (Other than the weekly posts)

Prose is plodding along alright. I got a credit + for my Sci-fi story. I'm happy with that. My punctuation once again let me down. I'm at a loss there. I try so hard to get on top of it, but it just seems to continually fall short. If I could sort out my pathetic punctuation skills, I'm confident enough in my writing to say I could get Distinctions with the effort I put into my writing.

Writing from the edge results are in also - I got a credit for that which I'm really happy about - this style of writing such as a novel in ten lines is all new to me - so to get a credit mark in that class. I wrote a prose poem about the visual disturbances of migraines. So to get a credit for that I'm very happy.

I've just got to catch up with my online stuff for Writing from the edge and Prose and I'll just have the essays due for those classes then I'm done for this semester.

Overall its been a highly productive day. The weathers shit (Cold, windy and raining) so I've not been outside at all, other than to collect the mail. I will have to brave to cold to take my dog for a walk - though from the look of him right now laying on the floor near me all snuggled up on his blanket. I'm thinking he'd be happy to forgo the walk/run today.

I'm off to stir the beef stew I put in the slow cooker this morning. Should be right to eat in about an hour from now.

That's all I've got.

Countdown

I've got an essay due this week and well I just re-read over what I wrote.... Crap is a word that comes to mind!

Basically it's an essay on Shakespeare's play The Tempest and it's post-colonial themes. Power, slavery, language etc. But I confused myself when reading over it. So I'm a little worried now. I'll revisit it tomorrow (It's due wednesday)

I've got hardly any work done today. I fell asleep on the lounge in the middle of the day. How bad is that! It rained and my washing got wet. So theres an abundence of 'wet' clothes draped over various items of furniture in my house right now in an attempt to have dry clean clothes to wear this week.

Air-conditioning

Whoever invented air-conditioning - I thank you, actually I bow down to you for this invention. Australia is known for it's beaches, poisonous snakes and spiders *actually insert list of dangerous animals here.....* and of course the weather.

However today is an exception. This past week we've had shit weather - Monday raining, Tuesday overcast, Wednesday sunny, Thursday see wednesday, Friday sunny. However today Saturday it's hotter than the pits of hell... well maybe that's a slight exaggeration, as I'm not sure just how hot the pits of hell are, in fact as a non religious person I've just used an example of something that I don't actually acknowledge exists! Anyway.... it was bloody hot today! Not only was it hot temp wise but there was also a strong 'wind' blowing from the west which when you live on the east coast of Australia means 'hot air' coming from the centre of the country that has a great big bloody orange rock in the almost centre of it. (I can totally picture people getting out their little atlas and having a look at the map of Australia now!) Centre of Australia = Large rock and desert which makes air 'hot'

Anyway back on topic. Air-conditioning inventor person (note the 'non gender specific as I'm not one to assume a gender in which invented this miracle) The miracle that turned the 41c to 33c in a matter of a hour (Sorry I haven't a clue what that transfers into Fahrenheit) All I know is that my air-conditioner was a welcome relief. It's only the 2nd week of November! Summer dosen't start officially until the 1st of December. I shudder to think what the temperature is going to be like this summer if today is any indication! We've fucked this planet - Global warming will send us the way of the dinosaurs!

That's all I've got. I'm off to melt some more
